The Regional Secretariat for Labour and Social Solidarity, through the Regional Directorate for Housing, will soon launch a public tender for the transfer of five housing plots with infrastructures for controlled-cost housing in Ponta Delgada.

The tender will be launched under the Housing Development Agreements and is targeted at building companies and real estate promoters.

The plots, owned by the Autonomous Region of the Azores, are located at Rua dos Barões de Nossa Senhora da Oliveira in the village of Fajã de Cima. This initiative estimates the construction of five 3-bedroom houses.

The project has an implementation period of 20 months.

The houses will be sold for permanent home ownership through a public competition for the selection of households to be launched by the Regional Secretariat for Labour and Social Solidarity. Families may also have the possibility of leasing the houses under the Government's house leasing programme.
