The Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity, through the Regional Directorate for Equality of Opportunities, will promote a series of activities to train, qualify technicians and to raise the awareness of the Azorean community for the valorisation of equality and the fight against discrimination.
A training course on equality of opportunities addressed at technicians will take place at the training room of the Institute for Social Work (5th floor) in Ponta Delgada on November 22 and 23.
The same training course will be held at the Cultural and Conference Centre in Agra do Heroísmo on November 5 and 6 and at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Horta on November 18 and 19.
The initiative intends to promote the application of the equality and diversity principles and the non-discrimination practices, adequate to the different professional contexts as well as the assumption of values, behaviours that promote equality, non-discrimination and valorise difference.
The children’s tale “Quando for grande... quero ser pai” (When I grow up... I want to be a dad) by Susana Teles Margarido will be presented at the auditorium of Ponta Delgada Public Library on October 22 at 5:30 PM.
Musical and poetry moments by the artist Maninho under the theme “Promote Equality, Valorise Difference” (Promova a Igualdade, Valorize a Diferença) are other activities to be held at the Ponta Delgada Public Library.
In order to raise the awareness of the community for the valorisation of difference, the fight against discrimination and the promotion of equality, the events will also take place at the auditorium of the Cultural and Conference Centre in Angra do Heroísmo on November 6 at 9:00 PM and at the auditorium of the Horta Public Library on November 18 at 9:00 PM.
