Under the programme to develop the social solidarity system of the Plan for 2009, the Regional Directorate for Solidarity and Social Security has awarded a total amount of 3,115,143.44 Euros.

The awarded funds, integrated in an effort to expand and qualify the existing social responses, subsidised different investments to remodel and build new infrastructures in the network of social infrastructures in the Region, as well as the acquisition of various equipments for social services.

Furthermore, the support has also benefitted social support institutions on the islands of S. Miguel, Terceira, Graciosa, Pico and Flores in the areas of support to Childhood and Youth, to the Elderly, to Disability and Rehabilitation.

The total amount also authorised subsidising the costs related to the payment of the Azorean Complement to the Family Allowance for Children and Youngsters, to the Programme of Technical Qualification for Temporary and Emergency Shelters, to the Children and Youngsters’ Homes in the Azores, to the Regional Network of Continuous and Palliative Care and to the payment of the COMPAMID.
