Under the decentralisation process on the submission of applications to existing support measures in the area of housing, the Government of the Azores has organised all the relevant information on the various programmes available in a single document that will be widely distributed, thus ensuring greater proximity to communities and providing better access to information.
 
In addition to being consulted or obtained on the Regional Government Portal (http://www.azores.gov.pt/Portal/pt/entidades/srss-drh), the document was also made available by the Regional Directorate for Housing to local authorities, private social solidarity institutions, RIAC offices - Citizen Support Integrated Network and the offices of SPRHI - Society for the Promotion and Rehabilitation of Housing and Infrastructures. These are partner organisations whose collaboration ensures that the population will be duly informed on the options available.
 
Applications to the support provided by the Government of the Azores in the area of housing may be submitted to the services of the Regional Directorate for Housing, but also with local authorities and at RIAC offices. The island services also provide services outside the respective facilities in order to avoid the displacement of applicants whose mobility is reduced or constrained in some way.
 
The initiative falls within the Government's policies intended to ensure that all those residing in the Azores who are in a vulnerable situation will have access to adequate and safe housing, either through leasing or rehabilitation of degraded housing, among other available options.
