Azoreans increasingly trust and use Azores Health Line, says Teresa Machado Luciano

The satisfaction survey of the Azores Health Line - 808 24 60 24 regarding the first half of 2020 indicates that 97% of the Azoreans who called this line were "very satisfied" with the service and support provided.

For the Regional Secretary for Health, these results evidence “the quality of information provided by nurses to the population through the Azores Health Line,” also demonstrating that “users increasingly trust and rely on this important service, as reflected in the increase in calls."

According to the report, more than 98% of the people who called the Azores Health Line followed the instructions given by nurses and did not need to resort to more help or differentiated care after the initial assessment conducted by telephone.

The document also concludes that about 97% of users would use the Azores Health Line in the future as a resource instead of going immediately to a health unit, a fact that Teresa Machado Luciano considered to be “very positive, as it demonstrates that the service is fulfilling one of its main goals."

As for the calls that led to the scheduling of a consultation, 95% of users stated that they went to the consultation scheduled by the Azores Health Line.

The Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service contacted 1,524 people to answer this satisfaction survey regarding the first half of 2020, and among them, 934 agreed to answer.

The satisfaction surveys of the Azores Health Line intended to perceive, in addition to user satisfaction, the positive and negative aspects of care, screening and counselling provided by nurses, so as to improve the quality of the service provided.

The surveys were conducted on a monthly basis, with the assessment based on a 5 point rating scale, where 1 corresponds to "not satisfied" and 5 to "excellent."

The Azores Health Line - 808 24 60 24 is a health support service, available 24/7, seven days a week, which allows users to clarify doubts concerning their health and receive advice and/or the most appropriate referral for their situation.
