An earthquake of weak intensity - degree II/III in the Modified Mercalli scale - was felt this morning in the parish of Porto Formoso and S. Brás, in the island of S. Miguel.
According to the Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service, the earthquake took place at 10.29am and had epicenter at four kilometers of Porto Formoso.
Quoting the Azores Vulcanologic and Seismologic Observatory, the Civil Protection advances that the today earthquake is associated to the activity that is developed in the area since the night of the 24th, in which three earthquakes of weak intensity were felt in Porto Formoso and S. Brás.
