The Regional Directorate for Health promotes, starting on Wednesday, three training courses addressed at the members that will integrate the school health teams.
The training will cover 246 professionals, among whom doctors, nurses, nutritionists, dieticians, social workers and teachers. In addition, these courses will also be attended by health delegates, environmental health technicians, dentists, psychologists and educators.
The training course aims to provide health promotion strategies in schools and reinforce the surveillance, protection and health promotion actions.
The Regional School Health and the Child and Youth Health programmes are included in the Regional Health Plan and are based on the principle according to which the school plays a key role in the acquisition healthy lifestyles as well as in the prevention of harmful behaviours.
This four-day course will take place in Ponta Delgada on September 1 with the presence of the Regional Director for Health. It will be held in Angra do Heroísmo on September 6 and in Horta on the following day.
