André Bradford participates in the Summit of the National Conference of State Legislatures in the USA
The Regional Secretary of the Presidency, André Bradford, will participate in the Summit of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) which is held in the city of Louisville in the state of Kentucky, USA, until July 28.
This conference is an independent organisation, established in 1975, which brings together legislators and the respective staff from 50 North American states the Commonwealth and other countries, assisting politically and technically. The works will focus on the support to policy development, providing opportunities for sharing experiences and supporting the development of studies and technical solutions for emerging problems with which legislators face in office.
The summit is expected to be attended by over 5,000 participants this year, including legislators, scholars and lobbies from several countries. The last edition of this conference counted upon the participation of twenty-two countries.
Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States and Jeb Bush, former governor of the state of Florida, will be among the most important participants to attend this year’s event.
The extensive programme of the National Conference of State Legislatures comprises over 150 sessions to address and development various themes, such as policy issues related to employment generation, transport funding, climate change or higher education. In addition to these sessions, there will be also a space for exhibitions, conferences and hundreds of workshops.
