The Under Secretary of Fishing welcomed a delegation from Bangladesh, composed by representatives of Ministry of Fisheries and of the fishing industry fro that Asian country, at an audience held Ponta Delgada on Thursday morning.
According to Marcelo Pamplona, the meeting included a learning dimension on the part of the authorities of that country, so that they may become acquainted with the issues related to fish commercialisation and fishing control in the European Union.
Being a country with fishing surplus, such as shrimp and other products that are non-existent in Europe, but which are sought after by the European Union, Bangladesh is not only interested in learning, but also in establishing partnerships with private companies in order to enter into the European market, mentioned Marcelo Pamplona.
The Under Secretary of Fishing also emphasised the importance of this meeting for that Asian country which aims to adopt a commercial strategy that will bring commercial benefits.
