The Under Secretary will participate in the meeting of the 9th Executive Committee of the South Western Waters Regional Advisory Council, an advisory body of the European Commission for fisheries management in the Atlantic. Marcelo Pamplona is the head of regional delegation which includes Azores Fisheries Federation and Lotaçor, SA. This meeting will be held in Madrid starting this Thursday.

Issues concerning the adoption of the recommendations proposed by the Work Groups that were created under the South Western RAC as well as the issues related to the discussion of the Community Rules on “Technical Measures” will be addressed at the meeting among other subjects.

This South Western Waters Regional Advisory Council is managed by fishers and works an influence tool for the management of the fishing effort among the European Union.
