Diplomas were awarded to several dozens of students from the Praia da Vitória Vocational Training School on Monday night at a gathering attended by the Regional Secretary for Education and Training on behalf of the President of the Government.
The event was included in the agenda of the Forum on Jobs, which took place in Praia da Vitória until today and was supported by the Regional Government.
The Government of the Azores considers that the growing offer of vocational training courses motivates students and creates new opportunities of integration in the labour market, simultaneously meeting company needs of a skilled labour force.
Vocational training has been registering a strong growth in the Region over the last years; there are 18 vocational training schools in the Archipelago, whose training offer for next year will comprise 127 training courses distributed by 64 areas.
“The Impact of Vocational Training on the Regional Economy” (O Impacto da Formação Profissional na Economia Regional), “Training Paths of Double Certification” (Percursos Formativos de Dupla Certificação) and “Strategies of adjustment between Supply and Demand” (Estratégias de Ajustamento entre a Oferta e a Procura) were the three main areas under debate at the Forum on Jobs.
