Government of the Azores holds to its commitment the development of the science and the technology
The regional secretary for Education and Science highlighted, today, the effort of investment that the Government of the Azores has been coming to do in the science and technology powers, and, in particular, in what is connected with the projects of creation of the regional technological parks.
Álamo Meneses, who was speaking in representation of the president of the Government in the opening solemn session of the XVI National Biochemistry Congress, which began today in Ponta Delgada, told that one of the technological parks is going to have like nuclear functioning area the biotechnology, with all the connected sciences with the biology, namely the biochemistry itself.
This will be one of the great investments of the Executive for next four years and that it will only be successful if the Azores are able to reconcile the investigation with the investment, with the needs of the economy and with the use of the potentialities that the islands offer in the biotechnology area, he considered.
The regional secretary for Education and Science was congratulated by the execution of the congress in the Azores, because it serves to project the Region and its university in the national and international context, and he expressed his hope so that the scientific work that is integrated in the program contributes to the development of the regional and national biotechnology.
