The Regional Secretariat for Education has invested, in a first stage, nearly 200 thousand Euros to equip over 50 elementary schools with interactive whiteboards, data shows, software, high-end equipment that will benefit nearly 6,300 students.
The Secretary for Education and Training, Lina Mendes, expects that these resources may enhance the teaching and learning process, because “investing in elementary schools is fundamental for the subsequent educational success of students. The quality of elementary schools is crucial for students to feel a desire to learn and enthusiasm for school.”
These equipments have already begun to be distributed this week, thus assuring the continuity of the Digital Schools project.
The whiteboards are mobile and can be used in several classrooms in order to cover the majority of students.
The delivery of the kits also includes the necessary training of teachers, which will be administered on the island of São Miguel between March 24 and to 26, and on the island of Pico from April 14 to 16.
