Enrolment for the Occupation of Free Time Programme has begun

The enrolment period for the Occupation of Free Time Programme for Youth (OTL/J), which is an initiative of the Government of the Azores, will take place until the end of April, through the Regional Directorate for Youth.
OTL/J is a non-formal educational programme that aims to promote the insertion of young people in the labour market. It is addressed at young people between the ages of 15 and 23 which are attending, or which have already concluded, the 9th form.
This initiative aims to provide a different way of occupying leisure time, to encourage entrepreneurship and solidarity, to instil the taste for acquiring knowledge and to direct young people’s readiness for a useful occupation of their leisure time.
OTL/J also intends to enhance future professional activities related to scientific investigation and new technologies, to promote the respect for biodiversity and to provide work in a joint action with other entities.
This programme is divided in five sub-programmes, “ocupação em ferias” (holiday occupation), “ambiente” (environment), “ciência em férias” (science during holidays), “jovens solidários” (solidary youth) and “jovens estudantes” (young students).
For more information regarding this programme, those who are interested should consult the websites www.azores.gov.pt or www.drjuventude.eu. They may contact the Regional Directorate for Youth through the e-mail [email protected].
