According to information provided by the Regional Directorate for Education, the deadline for the submission of applications for the fixed-term hiring of teachers in the school year 2014/2015 opened today and will run until May 16.

 Applications can be made by filling in an electronic form. In order to submit it online, applicants should use the information provided in previous application procedures, including the email address and the access password."
 Applicants who do not have the access information must register as new users.
 
 The application form is available at the following electronic address: http://concursopessoaldocente.azores.gov.pt. It can also be accessed through the portal of the Regional Government of the Azores (www.azores.gov.pt) and the Education portal (www.edu.azores.gov.pt).

 The application is open to individuals holding pedagogical qualifications, i.e., those who have completed a professional traineeship in the area of education or a teacher in-service training.

 Furthermore, the application is also open to individuals who hold professional qualifications suitable for the practice of teaching in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in force, which may be consulted at: http://www.dgae.mec.pt/web/14654/propria.

 The hiring of teachers is intended to meet temporary needs of the regional education system that were not fulfilled by the teaching staff of regional schools and result from the temporary absences of teachers.
