Two of the three Azoreans youngsters, who represented Portugal at the WordSkills Championship that was held between in Calgary in Canada between September 2 and September 5 won Excellence medals.
The awardwinners were the national champion of Electrical Installations, André Rodrigues, and the national champion of Computer Networks, Luís Martins.
The medallion for Excellence is only awarded when a candidate exceeds 500 points
This event which gathered the world’s 960 best professionals has also enabled a greater contact between the Azorean youngsters with young professionals of other countries.
António Paquete is the leader of the Portuguese team, which was composed by 12 members.
It is important to mention that the national skills championship will be held in the Azores in March 2011 and will count upon the participation of nearly one thousand people for two weeks.
