According to information provided by the Regional Directorate for Education, the period for the submission of applications to teaching positions under a fixed-term contract for the school year 2015/2016 is taking place from today until Friday, May 15.

Applications are made, as usual, through the electronic form available at http://concursopessoaldocente.azores.gov.pt address or at the portal of the Regional Government of the Azores (www.azores.gov.pt) and the Education portal (www.edu.azores.gov.pt).

In order to submit their applications online, applicants should use the information provided in previous application procedures carried out by the Regional Directorate for Education (email address and access password).

Teachers applying for the first time that do not have access information must register as new users.

In accordance to the rules on teaching applications, this application is open to individuals who hold professional qualifications for the practice of teaching, i.e., those who have completed a teaching traineeship or teacher in-service training.

Furthermore, the application is also open to individuals who hold professional qualifications suitable for the practice of teaching in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in force, which may be consulted at: http://www.dgae.mec.pt/web/14654/propria.

The hiring of teachers is intended to meet temporary needs of the regional education system that were not fulfilled by the teaching staff of regional schools and result from the temporary absences of teachers.
