Application period for second edition of "Daring, Intervening, Improving" Award open

The applications for the second edition of the annual award "Daring, Intervening, Improving" are taking place until October 31. This initiative aims to improve and disseminate the work carried out by schools to combat underachievement at school and early dropout.

Addressed at school establishments of the regional education system, this award provides a money prize intended to distinguish the best projects developed in the previous school year, which are assessed based on the impact they had in several school success indicators.

The applications for projects developed in the school year 2014-15 must be made online until the last day of October. The winners will be announced by the end of January 2016.

The creation of this award aims to recognise the effort carried out by schools in fighting school underachievement and early dropout, improving the teaching and learning of the students and disseminating the work for the promotion of educational success to the school community as well as to the society in general.

Applications will be assessed based on the impact of projects on the improvement of one or more indicators in the school level where it was implemented, namely the progression rate, the dropout rate, the results of Final/National Exams, attendance and indiscipline.

The prize will be awarded at a public ceremony to take place in the second term of the school year 2015/2016.
