Olympic champion Rosa Mota on Friday will participate, in the island of Terceira, on the IX Spring Race, a competition organised by the Basic School of Biscoitos.
The competition is open to all students of that school, from the 1st to the 9th year of schooling. It shall begin at 09H30. The attribution of prizes, a colloquium with the students and an autograph session will follow.
In the same day of the competition, Rosa Mota will speak at the Vitorino Nemésio Secondary School at 16H00 and, starting at 18H00, she will participate in an athletics training session at the John Paul II Stadium with the athletics groups of the island of Terceira.
On Saturday, at 11H00, the Portuguese Olympic champion will visit the Golf Club of Terceira to meet with 40 golf students, aged between six and ten years old.
Still on Saturday, at 16H00, the marathon runner will participate in the "Active Azores Project", a walk from the city of Praia da Vitória, departing at the Largo da Luz plaza with the Green Zone as the final destination.
This initiative is meant for the entire population. The President of the Municipality of Praia da Vitória will attend the event, which was supported by City Hall and the Health-Centre of Praia da Vitória.
Rosa Mota will be accompanied throughout by the Regional Director for Sports, Mr. Rui Santos.
