The Regional Director of Sport will participate in the meeting of the National Anti-Doping Council to be held in Lisbon on Wednesday, where the current situation of the national programme to combat the use of illegal substance use in sports will be analysed.
The meeting, whose agenda contains eight items, will be held at the facilities of the Portuguese Anti-Doping Authority at 10 AM (local time).
The National Anti-Doping Council is the body of the Sports Institute of Portugal (IDP), which is in charge for the organisation and coordination of the actions to combat doping in sport.
In addition to the assessment and approval of the minute of the first meeting, which was held on January 13, 2010, this event was also scheduled with the purpose of analysing the situation of the doping regulations sports federations that hold the Public Sports Utility.
The National Anti-Doping Programme for 2010 and the analysis of the target group of athletes to undergo doping testing out-of-competition and in-competition, and the respective tracking system will be other issues addressed at the meeting.
The National Anti-Doping Council will also analyse the strategy to be implemented to combat the use of forbidden substances and methods in gymnasiums, submit and decide on the assessments regarding the violations of the doping rules and the results of atypical relationships testosterone / epitestosterone higher than four.
Moreover, this body integrates the Chairman of the IDP, the director and representative of the Laboratory of Doping Analysis (LAD), the representative of the National Institute of Pharmacy and Medicine (INFARMED), experts from Sports Federations, appointed by the Portugal Sports Confederation (CDP) and the representative of the Olympic Committee of Portugal (COP).
