Six Azorean students participate in the National Phase MegaSprinter 2016/2017 to take place in Elvas Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1.
 
Azorean participants in this competition are as follows: Laura Barbeito (Tomás de Borba Basic Education and Secondary School), Female Beginners - A; Vanessa Santo (Castanheiro School) Female Beginners - B; Samuel Gil (Francisco Ferreira Drummond Basic Education School), Male Beginners - B; Ana Goulart (Madalena do Pico Basic Education and Secondary School); Sulpécia Gomes (Vitorino Nemésio Secondary School) Female Beginners; Roberto Melo (Horta Basic Education School), Male Beginners.
 
Azorean students are accompanied by teachers Cristina Santos (Madalena do Pico Basic Education and Secondary School) and Miguel Mendes (Horta Basic Education School).
 
In this national phase, which will include the participation of more than a thousand students and teachers from different parts of the country, Azorean students will have, once again, the opportunity to represent "their" school, "their" island and "their" Azores.
