The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Santa Maria Museum, promotes the opening of the exhibition titled "Visions - The interior of the human eye" at Vila do Porto Municipal Library on October 8 at 9 PM.
 
This exhibition, which features real images inside the human eye, is the result of a partnership between the Santa Maria Museum and the Surgical Centre of Coimbra. It may be visited until November 13.
 
"After the mechanism of vision became known as well as the exchanges between light, signals and the brain, we wanted to document and record this fantastic mechanism. We had to look inside the human eye. Digital photography, coupled to computers and the light emitted by lasers or not, allowed us to record these and other 'visions,'" António Travassos says in the exhibition catalogue.
