The Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, through the Regional Directorate for Culture, determined the opening of the public interest classification process for the property designated as "Fábrica das Armações Baleeiras Reunidas" (whaling factory) in São Roque do Pico, according to the announcement published in the Official Journal.  

For a period of 30 days, interested parties may express their opinion in writing on this classification process, which may be consulted at the headquarters of the Regional Directorate for Culture, Palacete Silveira e Paulo, at Rua da Conceição in Angra do Heroísmo.

The property in the process of being classified as well as those located within its protection zone, which corresponds to 50 metre from its external limits, are covered by the legal provisions in force, namely the Law no.107/2001 of September 8 and the Regional Legislative Decree no.3/2015/A of February 4.
