The Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive (BPARPD) will receive the estate of José de Almeida Pavão, an Azorean personality of particular importance in the public and private sphere.
 
Hence, the Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive, signed today a Protocol of Donation with Leonor de Almeida Pavão, as heir to José de Almeida Pavão.
 
This estate includes an unpublished letter from Antero de Quental to her sister that became part of the poet's book collection. It will certainly enrich the cultural heritage of the Library and the Region.
 
This donation follows the express wish of José de Almeida Pavão, who served as Director of Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive for several years, providing a decisive contribution to the preservation and dissemination of the institution's mission.
