History of Art in the Azores to be launched on S. Miguel, Terceira, Faial and Lisbon

The Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, through the Regional Directorate for Culture, promotes the launch of the History of Art in the Azores in Ponta Delgada and Angra do Heroísmo on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The launch of this work will take place in three sessions held in the archipelago. The first will take place on February 22 at the auditorium of Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive at 7:30 PM, the second on February 23 at the auditorium of Luís da Silva Ribeira Public Library and Regional Archive at 6 PM, and the third session is scheduled for March 29 at João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archive in Horta.

The "History of Art in the Azores" will also have a launch session at the Houses of the Azores in Lisbon on March 8.

These sessions will be attended by the Scientific Coordinators Vítor Serrão and João Vieira Caldas as well as by art historian Nuno Senos, who will make the presentation of the work.

With the scientific coordination of Vítor Serrão, João Vieira Caldas and Delfim Sardo, this indispensable reference work brings together three dozen articles by renowned specialists and researchers on the most varied fields regarding the art produced in the Azores between the 15th and 20th centuries.

The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
