Government finances diggings of zone of construction of the Parochial Centre of Porto Judeu due to the discovery of cemetery
The Government is going to finance the execution, for a specialized team, of archaeological diggings in the zone of construction of the building destined for the Parochial Centre of Porto Judeu, in the Terceira Island, where remains of human skeletons were discovered.
Due to the found remains, the legislation in effect about the protection of the archaeological heritage stipulates the continuation of the construction works of the new equipment, in a space next to the Parochial Church of that parish of the council of Angra do Heroísmo, to the execution of archaeological diggings.
A dispatch of the president of the Government authorizes the regional director for Culture to begin the necessary mechanisms for the financing of the digging of the cemetery at issue, calculated in nearly 12 thousand euros.
