Carlos Machado Museum celebrates European Heritage Days 2015 with Tea Heritage Itinerary
The Carlos Machado Museum will join Gorreana Tea Factory in the celebrations of European Heritage Days 2015 with activites to be held under the theme "Industrial and Technical Heritage." On Friday, September 25, it promotes the "Heritage Itinerary - from planting to the transformation of 'Camellia sinensis' leaves into Tea."
The programme starts at 10:30 AM with the gathering of participants at Gorreana Tea Factory, which will be followed by a hiking through tea plantations.
There will be a guided visit to the factory by the early afternoon, starting at 1:45 PM. Participants will have the opportunity to know the transformation process of 'Camellia sinensis' leaves into black tea (Orange, Pekoe e Broken Leaf) and green tea and to interact with those involved in the process of transforming this plant into tea.
The activity also includes the presentation of an exhibition to be held at Carlos Machado Museum next year and the tasting of tea.
