Azorean and national bands to play National Anthem at the same on October 5

The National Commission for the Centennial Celebration of the Republic invited all Portuguese philharmonic bands to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Portuguese Republic.
On October 5, 2010, at 9:30 AM (Azores local time) the bands that have joined this initiative will play the National Anthem in unison at the same time the national flag is hoisted.
The Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate of Culture, has joined this project, emphasising the significance of this initiative as a celebration of the establishment of the Portuguese Republic and the importance of philharmonic bands in the cultural dynamics of the Azores.
Many of the Azorean philharmonic bands have already confirmed their presence to perform on their respective islands near their headquarters, the Village Council or Town Hall, joining an initiative that will mobilise Portugal, through the National Anthem. 
So far, the participation of the following philharmonic bands in the Azores is confirmed: Banda Recreio Espirituense (Santa Maria); Associação Cultural Recreativa e Desportiva do Pico da Pedra, Filarmónica Minerva dos Ginetes, Filarmónica Imaculada Conceição, Sociedade Musical Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Filarmónica União Progressista de Vila Franca do Campo, Filarmónica Lira Nossa Senhora da Estrela, Filarmónica Lira Nossa Senhora da Oliveira, Banda União dos Amigos das Capelas, Sociedade Filarmónica Nossa Senhora dos Remédios and Filarmónica Eco Edificante (São Miguel).
The following bands will also participate in the event: Filarmónica Nossa Senhora das Mercês, Filarmónica Recreio de Santa Bárbara, Filarmónica União Praiense, Sociedade Filarmónica Espírito Santo da Agualva and Sociedade Filarmónica de Instrução e Recreio dos Artistas (Terceira); Sociedade Filarmónica Recreio Terreirense, Sociedade Filarmónica Recreio e Progresso Lavradores de Santo Antão, Sociedade Filarmónica Recreio de S. Lázaro and Sociedade Filarmónica Recreio Topense.

Mateus. From Faial: Sociedade Filarmónica Recreio Musical Ribeirinhense. From Flores: Filarmónica União Operária e Cultural de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios.
