Regional Government promotes training of Local Energy Managers from all over the archipelago
The Regional Government promotes Friday, September 4, a distance learning course for Local Energy Managers (GLE) designated by various bodies throughout the archipelago under the ECO.AP Azores - Energy Efficiency Programme for the Regional Public Administration.
The initiative is carried out by the Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy. It intends to continue the efforts undertaken by the Regional Government in promoting energy efficiency in the public sector as a strategic option, considering that its performance is relevant given the need to lead by example and transparency.
In this context, the ECO.AP Azores programme is under way, being directed to the Regional Public Administration, a sector responsible for a significant part of energy consumption in the archipelago, under which these entities must designate a Local Energy Manager.
The Regional Directorate for Energy has been training these professionals so that they may be better prepared to take on the responsibility of promoting energy efficiency and proper energy management, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge acquired in their work environment.
Local Energy Managers are also trained to use the electronic energy management platform designated as ECO.AP Barometer, a tool that puts into practice the ECO.AP Azores programme. Overall, 65 regional entities and 130 public buildings located in all municipalities of the archipelago are already registered in the Platform.
The training initiatives dedicated to Local Energy Managers have been carried out by the Regional Directorate for Energy on several islands of the archipelago since 2018, which already included a training course held in digital learning format.
