Regional Government promotes Meeting with Energy Efficiency dedicated to the residential sector
The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy, will promote an online session of Meetings with Energy Efficiency dedicated to the residential sector on September 10. This initiative aims to improve energy performance and achieve savings at home in terms of consumption.
Energy efficiency in the residential sector is of special importance due to its practical effects in terms of reducing the electricity bill of Azorean families, also resulting in the efficient and rational use of energy. This is also an important contribution to the decarbonisation of the regional economy, being in line with the commitments made by the Regional Government in the area of energy.
For the purpose of creating the conditions for citizens to adopt the best practices in this matter, the Energy Efficiency Handbook - Residential Sector will be presented at this meeting as well as the tools available for its implementation. The latter include the various simulators and the financial incentive systems that have been created by the Government, namely PROENERGIA, an incentive system for the production and storage of energy from renewable sources, and the incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles and charging stations.
This session takes place as part of the Meetings with Energy Efficiency conferences, which have been held periodically, an initiative addressed to various sectors with the aim of raising awareness, debating and disseminating the best energy efficiency practices in the Azores.
In view of the current challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Meetings with Energy Efficiency were adapted to a digital format.
The session dedicated to the residential sector will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Regional Directorate for Energy - the Azores Energy Portal at https://www.facebook.com/portaldaenergiaacores on September 10 from 3 pm.
