Regional Government launches energy efficiency campaigns aimed at companies and industries
The Regional Government launched this week two new editions of the Campaign for the Promotion of Energy Efficiency in the Azores, dedicated to the business and industrial sectors, in order to boost energy optimisation and enhance the positioning of these entities, in line with the development of a low carbon economy in the Azores.
Both actions represent an opportunity for Azorean industrial units and companies to boost their competitiveness through energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. They will also strengthen themselves in the global market as organisations that stand out for adopting sustainable practices.
Whether in the case of companies or in the case of industries, the campaigns involve the participation in an awareness-raising action and, consequently, the submission of a proposal for an energy efficiency plan by each entity.
In the end, three winners will be selected in each of the campaigns, who will be awarded a charging station for electric vehicles and receive technical support for the implementation of the energy efficiency measures presented.
In the case of companies, the registration period run until July 22. This initiative is aimed at companies, groups of companies, associations or cooperatives installed in shared spaces, such as science and technology parks, business parks/centres and co-work spaces based in the Azores.
In turn, regional industrial units can make their registration until July 23.
These actions are part of the “Energy Efficiency Prize - Azores,” an initiative established by a Resolution of the Council of the Government.
The entities covered by the most recent campaigns can submit their applications on the Portal of the Regional Directorate for Energy at https://portaldaenergia.azores.gov.pt/portal/Eficiencia-Energetica/Camivais-EEA.
