The SIGESTEIN project developed under the environmental area will be presented at the Botanical Garden of Faial on December 15 from 9 AM to 12:30 PM at a work session that will include the collection of contributions from various organisations and the citizens who will attend the event for the creation of the information portal.
The Secretariat for the Environment and the Sea, through the Regional Directorate for the Environment, has developed a partnership with the Agencia de Protección del Medio Urbano y Natural of the Canary Islands under the “SIGESTEIN – Sistema Tecnológico de Gestão Territorial de Expedientes de Infracções Territoriais” Project.
This project is developed under the transnational cooperation programme – PCT MAC – and has duration of 3 years. With its implementation, the Government aims to create an interactive portal for citizens, companies or public entities, providing a variety of environmental information with special emphasis on waste. The creation of an online platform which will allow any citizen to submit information or suggestions on waste management in the Azores is another goal of the SIGESTEIN project.
