Regional Directorate for the Environment promotes workshops on environmental good practices

With these initiatives, the Government intends to provide information on environmental management tools EMAS (Community eco-management and audit scheme), Ecologic Label and 21 Agenda, and the advantages of their implementation, in the context of environmental licensing in order to increase the support for the SIDER applications.
The presentation of establishments with EMAS environmental declaration in the Azores and of projects in progress which are related to the 21 Agenda, as well as the promotion environmental awareness-raising campaigns are amongst the goals of these initiatives.
The workshops that will take place on May 17 and 19, to be held on S. Miguel and Pico, have similar agendas and are addressed at Regional and local administration technicians, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, companies from the trade, industrial, consultancy, restaurant, hotel sectors, among others, and facilities which are subject to environmental licensing.
A workshop on 21 Agenda will be held at the Centro do Mar facilities in Porto Pim on Faial Island on May 18, being exclusively addressed at technicians.
