One Friday, in the island of Pico,  the Regional Directorate for the Environment will conduct two information sessions regarding the Management and Prevention of Residues. 

This initiative aims to inform citizens about matters pertaining to the residues of Pico island and is meant for technicians of the local council, monitoring authorities, regional administrative services and companies. 

The themes to be considered are the prevention, re-utilisation and valorisation of urban, forest and other residues. The  PEGRA methodology (Strategic Plan for Residue Management of the Azores) for dealing with residues will also be addressed. 

These information sessions are free and will take place in the Auditorium of the Whalers Museum, at Lajes, between 11 and 12:30 hr, and at the Auditorium of the of the Basic and Secondary School of São Roque, between 14 and 15:30 hr.
