Under the Regional Plan for Environmental Education and Awareness Raising (PRESAA), the Government of the Azores promotes the 11th Regional Meeting on Environmental Education and Eco-Schools (XI EREA-EE) on October 16-18.

The initiative will be held in Horta and Ponta Delgada under the theme "Partners in action: contexts and environmental education practices in Azorean society." It is organised by the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and the Environment, through the Regional Directorate for the Environment and AZORINA.

The meeting intends to be a space for the dissemination, sharing and reflection on the environmental education provided in the Region. The initiative will discuss issues related with the environmental education projects developed under the Eco-Schools Programme as well as with the programmes and campaigns carried out in partnership with local authorities, non-governmental organisations, companies and other entities.

The Eco-Schools 2013/2014 awards ceremony and the delivery of certificates to municipal partners in this international programme will take place during the meeting.

The 11th Regional Meeting on Environmental Education and Eco-Schools is addressed at all professionals involved in environmental education, either in a formal or informal context.
