The Government of the Azores awarded a total amount of €121,750.00 during the first two weeks of June, for the organisation of initiatives, actions and tourist animation events or other events with a significant impact on the external promotion of the Azores as a tourist destination.

The funds were allocated to actions and events that were organised in the Region in the area of tourist animation, with a socio-cultural, religious or sports nature, and to actions that were carried out outside the Region, whose organisation contributes to a greater visibility of the Azores destination abroad.

A total of 9 events were supported, which were promoted by cultural, religious and sports associations of São Miguel, Terceira, Faial and of Santa Maria.

The Government of the Azores has financed in about one million Euros more than seven dozens initiatives, action and animation events to promote the Azores destination abroad since the beginning of the year.
