Government holds to its commitment to overcome effects of the national and international economical state of affairs
The regional secretary for the Economy guaranteed, on Tuesday, that the Government of the Azores is “totally commitment” in the objective of finding solutions that help the regional businessmen to overcome the challenges put by the international economical situation.
Vasco Cordeiro, who was speaking in representation of the president of the Government in the commemorative dinner of the 173rd anniversary of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Ponta Delgada, underlined, however, that the Executive “won’t go besides the space that it can go, whether from the legal point of view, whether from the point of view of the functioning of the system itself”.
But “everything that is in the means of the Government of the Azores, everything that there is, within the legal framework and that will be possible to do to preserve and to help the enterprises of the Azores to win this challenge, will be done”, he guaranteed.
The regional secretary for the Economy remembered to be currently taking place the process led by the president of the Government for the study on the measures to be adopted in the near future, anticipating that the Executive “is already internally advancing with its work, waiting for the delivery of the proposals that are being studied by the businessmen”.
As he told, the solutions to adopt “will advance, after the process of decision, not only in benefit of the enterprises, but also in benefit of the economical and labour system of the Autonomous Region of the Azores”.
“It won’t be an easy course and in which we won’t always be of agreement. But, and I think that that can be recognized, it is a challenge in which whether from your side (businessmen), whether from the side of the Government there is a common purpose”, he said.
The regional secretary for the Economy still pointed out the symbolism of the commemorations of the 173rd anniversary of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Ponta Delgada, thinking that the evocation of the date “must serve, not only to pay tribute to all those that in the past contributed to its development, but also as reference to overcome the current challenges”.
