Azores can use benefits that they have

The regional secretary for Economy affirmed today, in the Azorean Parliament, that there is a vast set of areas in which the Azores “can use unmistakable benefits which they have.”

Among others, “it is the case of our fiscal system, of our political and social stability or of our geo-strategic position”, it enumerated Vasco Cordeiro during the discussions on the Program of the X Regional Government.

For the regional secretary, the next renovation of SATA Air Açores and the entry in functioning of the new vessels of the Atlanticoline constitute measures that “signal the intention of constant improvement of the service that is given and of affirmation of the potential that these sectors have”.

“Both these areas, whether through the functioning of the market, whether through the introduction of elements of public intervention, as it is the case of the obligations of the Civil Service, cannot be considered only in the operational perspective of giving answer to the needs of dislocation”, it also remembered Vasco Cordeiro.

As he told, the Government also defines like priorities the reinforcement of the promotion and of the diffusion of the destination Azores, “based, in special, in pointing out our differentiating characteristics, of which, and in our times, there assume every time bigger relief the security and the social stability”.

Vasco Cordeiro still explained that the Executive assumes the challenge of creating the conditions so that the success of the tourist sector and so that this “undeniable vector of development of the Azores is felt and caressed, at once, by the Azoreans”.

“The Government is here and it will be here to act, ready and efficiently, in the areas in which it must intervene, as well as to help the businessmen, the enterprises and the workers to build their part of a dynamic, productive and enterprising tourist sector”, pointed out the governor.

He even said that, also in the areas regarding the Commerce and the Industry, the Government goes for this Legislature with the “conscience of the necessity of an intervention that privileges the reinforcement or the creation of competitiveness and of quality factors of the Azorean commercial and industrial system”.

When finishing, Vasco Cordeiro underlined that the Executive is assumed in the Azores as “partner as part of the promotion of the innovation, of the technological modernization and of the investigation applied to the business process”.
