Luísa Schanderl is 55 years old and holds a degree in Biology and Sociology. She is attached to the teaching staff of Antero de Quental Secondary School. She currently holds the position of president of the Board of the Azores Tourism Association, member of the Administration Board of the Azores Hotel and Tourism Association and member of the Administration Board of SATA SGPS, SATA Internacional and SATA Gestão de Aeródromos. She has also performed the duties of head of cabinet of the Regional Secretariat for the Economy.
Luísa Schanderl also held the position of coordinator of CIFOP (Teachers' Training Centre) at the University of the Azores. She has represented the Regional Government at the Information Observatory which operates under the Port and Maritime Transport Institute. She has also took part in the working group in charge of studying the financing model and Investment Plans for the Regional Airport System as well as in the working group responsible for establishing public service obligations for regular air transport operations between Mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Regions of Madeira and the Azores.
Luisa Schanderl took office as Regional Secretary for the Economy of the X Regional Government of the Azores on 19 April 2012.
