Regional Government already has plan to receive family deported from Canada

The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Communities and the Institute for the Social Development of the Azores (IDSA) has already established a plan to receive the family to be deported by Canadian authorities and who is expected to arrive in the Azores next Friday, December 30.

The Regional Directorate for Communities in conjunction with IDSA has already mobilised a technical team to receive and support Paulo Sebastião's family upon their arrival at the Ponta Delgada airport. The family will now live in two rented houses in the village of Rabo de Peixe, their place of origin.

After the reception and accommodation, the technical team mobilised to support this deportation case will take all actions deemed necessary to integrate the four children into school and simultaneously promote the integration of the remaining family members.

Paulo Sebastião's family, who had been living in Canada since 2001, received a deportation order in 2007. This family, composed by ten people, has exhausted all legal resources to halt the deportation order issued by Canadian authorities.
