The Regional Government promotes the meeting of the Youth Council to discuss youth employment in Nordeste, São Miguel Island, next Monday, July 3.
"The purpose of the meeting is to present the work that is being developed to councillors and listen to them as well as to know their concerns, their vision and their ideas on an area so relevant to our future in the medium-term," said the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs.
At this meeting of the advisory body for regional youth policies, the Government of the Azores will give a detailed presentation of the work carried out in the area of youth employment, measures to support young employability and their results.
"We have followed a positive path in young employment and in promoting the employability of this age group, but we are aware that there is still a lot to do," said Berto Messias.
"More youth employability is one of the most important goals of our political project for the Azorean in the medium-term and this purpose needs the contribution of all. Hence, this meeting will be held because it is also important for us to hear the Youth Council more often," added the government official.
"For us, it is fundamental to be scrutinised, confronted, questioned and become acquainted with all the criticisms, warnings, suggestions and concerns of those who formally represent Azorean youth in this body," assured the Regional Secretary.
The Youth Council includes representatives from various youth organisations, regional youth parties, scouts, trade unions, social solidarity institutions, young religious associations, young farmers' associations and the academic association of the University of the Azores.
