The Regional Government is already preparing the agenda for the economic and social recovery of the Azores, as announced two weeks ago when it publicly requested contributions to the Action Plan for the Autonomous Region of the Azores setting the criteria for a safe exit from the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement was made today at the Legislative Assembly by the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs. 

Berto Messias spoke, by video conference, during the discussion of a proposal presented by PSD for the development of an economic recovery plan. On the occasion, he highlighted "all the work carried out by the Regional Government in the context of the Action Plan for the Autonomous Region of the Azores setting the criteria for a safe exit from the COVID-19 pandemic," pointing out the importance of contributions from "political parties, social partners and citizens" in this matter. 

The Regional Secretary stressed that the agenda for the economic and social recovery of the Azores is being drawn up "taking into account a series of assumptions that run across all economic and social activity," adding that, "after being completed, the proposal will also be put forward to public discussion." 

"Dialogue with political parties and social concertation are absolutely fundamental and will continue to be the focus of our concerns in the measures to be implemented in our Region, as was the case with the considerable package of measures implemented by the Regional Government. The contributions from all political parties and all social partners improved this package of measures, which will help us to overcome this difficult period," said Berto Messias.
 
"There are fundamental principles to overcome this pandemic, such as safety, determination and transparency. It also is clear that dialogue and social concertation must play a key role in resuming economic recovery and overcoming this pandemic," stressed the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency.
