The Regional Directorate for Youth organises cultural activities to promote young people
On Thursday, the Regional Director for Youth said that all "activities that promote culture and the arts, in any of its forms of expression, are very important for the social development of the young people" of the Azores.
As he justified the support granted by the Regional Government of the Azores to the IV Regional Meeting of School Groups studying Dramatic Expression, which took place at the Secondary School of Lagoa, on the island of São Miguel, the Regional Director, Bruno Pacheco, commended such initiatives by saying that they reveal the interest and recognition of the "potential and talent" of young people.
He said that by supporting this meeting in Lagoa, the Regional Government demonstrates its commitment to promote the education and creativity of young people, creating new opportunities for the emergence of new talents in diverse artistic domains.
He added that recognising the important role that culture plays in the formation of transversal social experiences is, for the Regional Government, something that contributes to the reinforcement of self-esteem and cultural identity.
