The Regional Director for Youth defended in Ponta Delgada that the support to the Walk & Talk Art Festival has translated into an "investment in creativity and urban recovery, through the embellishment of Azorean cities."
 
Lúcio Rodrigues spoke at the end of a meeting with Sofia Carolina Botelho, one of the Festival's Art Director, highlighting "the important role played by this initiative, firstly on São Miguel Island and, more recently, on Terceira Island."
 
"The support awarded by the Regional Government has been a win-win," said the government official.
 
Walk & Talk is an annual arts festival. The first edition took place on the island of São Miguel in 2011 and it was held for the first time on Terceira in 2016.
 
From visual arts to performing arts, through architecture, design, music or video, this platform encourages artistic creation in permanent dialogue with the territory, culture and the Azorean community.
 
"This festival has already welcomed more than two hundred creators and group of artists in residence who created innovative works in the Azores. Today, there are about one hundred works that may be visited on São Miguel and Terceira, including paintings and installation artworks that bring life to our cities and assert themselves as true artistic itinerary of both islands," emphasised Lúcio Rodrigues.
 
For the Regional Director, "this festival is another opportunity for the creative and artistic assertion of young Azoreans, along with other initiatives promoted by the Regional Directorate for Youth."
 
Lúcio Rodrigues emphasised the "international projection and visibility that Walk & Talk has managed to garner in the national press and even in the international press, thus becoming a true business card of the Region's creativity."
 
"The Government of the Azores, not only through the Regional Directorate for Youth but also through other departments, has been and will continue to be available to be a partner in this type of project, which is very important for Azorean youth," stressed the Regional Director.
