Regional Director says joint work between the Regional Government and Local Authorities is essential for the benefit of Azorean youth
The Regional Director for Youth highlighted in Ribeira Grande the “importance of the joint work” carried out by the Regional Government and local authorities for the benefit of youth in the archipelago.
Lúcio Rodrigues spoke at the end of a meeting with the Santa Bárbara Parish Council, during which several youth projects currently under way were analysed as well as initiatives that are still in the planning stage.
“It is with pleasure that I note the quality of the joint work and the permanent cooperation with local authorities, always in a healthy dialogue," stressed the Regional Director.
Lúcio Rodrigues also emphasised the “commitment and motivation that young Azoreans from all over the archipelago have shown in projects that also involve municipalities, since they feel directly involved with their own communities.”
"It is important that young people feel involved and strengthen their sense of belonging in order to foster their civic participation, which is, after all, one of our main goals for this legislative term, along with the improvement of professional qualification and employability of our young people," stressed the government official.
Lúcio Rodrigues even considered that the partnership between the Regional Government and Local Authorities “can be further deepened in many situations as long as it is meaningful and the results directly benefit young people."
“It is the combination of efforts, the commitment and the desire to get everyone involved and work together for the same purpose that will always bring us more positive results and opportunities for our young people. And that is what we intend to do in the future because, for us, everyone counts,” said the Regional Director for Youth.
