The bearers of the Interjovem Card are going to have free access to the World Press Photo exhibition that opens on Sunday in Theatre Micaelense, in Ponta Delgada, thanks to an agreement obtained by the Regional Directorate for Youth (DRJ).
The display, which joins some of the best works in photojournalism produced at world level, is going to be open in that shows room till the 9th of August.
According to the DRJ, the guarantee of free access to the exhibition is included in the strategy of adding, whenever possible, more advantages and benefits of added value to the Interjovem Card.
Being a display of the World Press Photo, the most prestigious international competition of photojournalism, the association of the Interjovem Card to this exhibition aims at giving the possibility to the Azorean youngsters to have contact with works of international quality, promoting, also, the taste for the analysis and criticism of internationally known works, it alleges the Regional Directorate for Youth.
The Jazz festivals of Ponta Delgada, Tota dos Bons Ventos and Maré de Agosto are other initiatives to which the Government of the Azores associates the Interjovem Card with aim at being able to develop the youngsters’ world knowledge.
The expansion to Ponta Delgada of the World Press Photo is a co-production of the Theatre Micaelense and of the Cultural Association Cima and it reckons with the contribute of the Government of the Azores.
