Government is partner of Azorean young people to "make it happen," says Regional Director for Youth

The Regional Director for Youth highlighted today the Government's availability to become an "effective partner" of Azorean young people and "help them accomplishing their professional and life projects."

Lúcio Rodrigues spoke in Horta at the presentation of "Make it Happen Portugal" project, a TV programme that stemmed from the initiative of a Terceira-born promoter of entrepreneurial initiatives, André Leonardo.

"This is a TV programme in which André Leonardo will travel to various locations in Portugal, backpacking, where he will meet with local entrepreneurs and become acquainted with the local dynamics," said the Regional Director.

Lúcio Rodrigues pointed out that, among the 10 episodes that make up the programme, "two will be taped in the Azores, more specifically on the islands of Faial and Pico, where the young Terceira-born entrepreneur will know the stories and experiences of local entrepreneurs."

"Make It Happen Portugal" aims, above all, to show how local entrepreneurs overcome difficulties, but it also address other aspects, such as politics, culture and the habits of the local population," stressed Lúcio Rodrigues.

The Regional Director for Youth also stressed that "this initiative meets the Azorean Government's strategy to promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture among young people," pointing out the example the "Entrepreneurial Education: The Path to Success" programme; it has been developed over seven consecutive editions in regional schools.

Supported by the Regional Government, through the Regional Directorate for Youth, "Make it Happen Portugal" will be broadcast on Channel Q between April and June.
