Government holds to its commitment the youthful mobility for European construction
The regional director for Youth considered, today, that the factor of the youthful mobility is determinative for the common tasks of the construction of the new European reality.
Bruno Pacheco, who was speaking in Ponta Delgada in the opening of the European Youth Week that joins, in the island of São Miguel, nearly a hundred of Azorean youngsters implicated in a discussion on the European policies of youth, told that, for the Government of the Azores, it is very important the commitment in the European programs of the mobility because they make possible the youthful exchange and the knowledge of other reality, without which one can’t get a full citizenship.
For this way, the Azorean youngsters become better citizens of Europe and, also, better citizens in the Azores, he added.
The European Youth Week stems from a joint initiative of the National Agency of the “Youth in Action” Program, from the Portuguese Institute of the Youth and of the National Youth Council, in partnership with the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth.
Formal and Non Formal Education, Youthful Emancipation, Participation and Citizenship, Diversity and Equality of Opportunities, Global Cooperation, Environment and Sustainable Development, Health and Culture and Creativity and Innovation are the subjects to debate in the today event.
There are objectives of the project to promote the structured dialog in the area of youth, identifying the priorities of the Portuguese youngsters regarding the future European youth policy and the new agenda of the European Union, in the mark of the elections for the European Parliament and of the renewal of the European Commission.
Besides the regional sessions, in number of seven, a national meeting will follow, which will have place from the 7th to the 9th of November in Portimão, in which 20 Azorean youngsters will participate and, for last, a meeting at European level, in Brussels.
For the regional director for Youth this initiative constitutes an integrated way in the designated “Open Method of Co-ordination of Policies” that the Government of the Azores has been coming to implement, and where the youngsters are called participating, in an active way, in the respective group dynamics, demonstrated that, when the subjects in discussion are of their interest, the Azorean youngsters never stop marking their presence.
