Entrepreneurship requires attitude and tolerance

The Regional Director for Youth defended in Angra do Heroísmo on Friday a culture of entrepreneurship based on a new attitude towards the company, but which requires "fault tolerance."

Bruno Pacheco spoke at the opening session of the conference on Entrepreneurship and Employment Creation - How to do it in Small Markets, organised by Terceira Youth Association (AJITER). The government official stated that in order to be an entrepreneur, one must believe in a project and not be afraid of failing or being criticised if it eventually fails.

"We are little tolerant to failure," government official emphasised, adding that those who fail in business often "face hard criticism."

The Regional Director also defended, before an audience that filled the auditorium of Tomás de Borba School, that entrepreneurship should be encouraged at school and, in this context, the Azores have developed a unique programme for this purpose at national level.

Bruno Pacheco also mentioned the incentives for entrepreneurship programmes developed by the Government, which can be a good starting point for putting new ideas into practice.

The government official also praised the activities developed by AJITER in the organisation of this event and many others in the past few years.

The conference on Entrepreneurship and Employment Creation - How to do it in Small Markets will be held on Friday and Saturday. This event will feature the participation of several speakers, whose papers will be presented in 6 thematic modules.
