The Assembly of European Regions (AER) has offered a scholarship with the duration of one year to a student that wishes to pursue an MA in the field of regional democracy.
Students residing in a AER area can submit their applications until the 31st of March. The AER is an inter-regional EU forum that gathers 270 European regions from thirty-three countries.
To apply, students need to fill the application that is available at the HYPERLINK http://www.aer.eu/ www.aer.eu. Applicants are asked to submit a 1000 word text on the theme, "What is the role of Inter-regional co-operation in Europe?"
Applicants to this scholarship should have a BA in an academic discipline that is relevant to the work undertaken by AER, such as European Studies, International Relations, Public Relations or Regional Studies. However, other academic disciplines that address the theme of regional development are also deemed pertinent.
This scholarship covers tuition costs, up to 5000 euros, and provides 500 euros per month for accommodation and food and a round trip between the country of origin of the recipient and the country where the university that s/he will attend.
At the end of the Master of Arts, the selected student should submit a copy of his-her thesis to the Assembly of European Regions, which will publish it on its website. In addition, the MA graduate will be offered an internship at the Secretariat of AER in Brussels or Strasbourg.
